Challenges Addressed
We resolve mission-critical operations and engineering roadblocks for the OEM vertical.
Impeller Characterization
In addition to physical testing, OEM’s can rely on Tridiagonal Software to characterize their impellers. Impeller Flow and Power Numbers can be determined.
Impeller configurations generated by internal sizing tools can be quickly validated in terms of flow and mixing performance. Power consumption and mixing profiles are a strong function of the tank configuration including internals such a coils, dip pipes etc.
Side entry impellers, non-Standard tank shapes, counter rotating impellers, inlets and outlets, complex recipes and rheologies can make it challenging to estimate mixer performance with correlations built using simple test data. CFD analysis can quickly de-risk the design and increase customer confidence.
Fluids loads on impellers can be estimated using the CFD tools. This can then be applied as boundary conditions to FEA analysis to determine stress. Stress Analysis is becoming important and using a 3D profile of Fluid loads is critical to predicting the stress profile accurately.
Traditional physical prototypes can be expensive and time-consuming. OEMs should create virtual prototypes of their equipment to demonstrate its performance to potential customers. This allows customers to see how the equipment will perform in their specific requirement without the need for physical testing.
By analyzing material usage, identifying potential manufacturing complexities based on the impeller design, and optimizing for efficient operation (which can reduce energy consumption), OEMs can provide valuable insights to inform cost estimates throughout the design process.
Developing and testing new equipment can be a time-consuming process. By virtually testing different designs and configurations, eliminating the need for multiple physical prototypes. This can significantly reduce development times and accelerate the time it takes to bring new products to market.
